New Cumberland Beautification Project

Historic New Cumberland has been slated for a beautification project with the assistance of Navarro & Wright Consulting Engineers, Inc. The New Cumberland based engineering company has assisted the Borough of New Cumberland in obtaining $529,000 from the Hometown Street Program and the New Cumberland Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the streetscape project, planned to begin in fall 2005.

Navarro & Wright has surveyed, mapped and designed 4000 lineal feet of existing State and Borough roadways for the Borough project. Roadways, curbs, sidewalks, trees, utilities, traffic signals and sixty-seven businesses and twenty residential properties have been under scrutiny for months for their future enhancement. The scope of services provided by Navarro & Wright, includes conceptual design, preparation of funding applications, coordination with regulatory agencies, final design, bid phase and construction phase services. Navarro & Wright's design comprises of the selection of construction materials, which includes new red concrete pavers for the curbs, hard landscaping and trees and aesthetically pleasing lighting illumination for enhancement.
