Project Overview: The project involved relocation of approximately 1800 lineal feet of Jonestown Road (a collector road), disconnection from U.S. Route 22 (S.R. 0022) and reconnection at a new signalized intersection. Navarro & Wright coordinated traffic studies, geotechnical investigations and assisted with highway occupancy permit for utilities and signal permit. Navarro & Wright was fully responsible for the design of the internal roadway network for this 80-acre commercial /residential subdivision which included a traffic circle and over one mile of roads.
Results: The local municipality was very pleased to abandon a dangerous intersection which had been the site of numerous accidents. Our client was able to undertake a mixed-use project with high traffic volumes by making the necessary roadway improvements.
