Project Overview:
Charles Street is one of the oldest thoroughfares in America, and one of the original streets of Baltimore. Long before Baltimore was founded, the Susquehannock Indian trail led from the north to the south along what is now part of Charles Street. After the Revolution its name was changed to Charles Street in honor of Charles Carroll of Carrrollton, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The first families of Baltimore have always lived on Charles Street. For more than 200 years, Charles Street has been changing and growing. The Streetscape project will help to preserve the streets rich history and Navarro & Wright Consulting Engineers, Inc. have played a role as part of the P. Flanigan & Sons team. Navarro & Wright provided surveying services to include stake out of construction baselines, east and west at 50-foot intervals, stake out of proposed curb at 50-foot stations on tangents and 25-foot stations on curves having radii of less than 30 feet. The points of curve, points of tangent, midpoints and radius points were staked on curves with a radius of less than 30 feet and provided stake out proposed storm inlet 1-1 with four (4) offset stakes and provided calculations and cut sheets.
