This $5 million project includes the preliminary engineering and environmental studies for the reconstruction / widening of U.S. Route 22 in Lehigh County between the western side of the Mickley Road (T-567, Whitehall Township) bridge proceeding east to the western side of the Irving Street (Hanover Township) bridge (these limits might vary slightly depending upon geometric requirements of transition from new to existing). Improvements include widening of the roadway to eight lanes; replacement of the structures over Mickley Road, Jordan Creek, Lehigh River and Dauphin Street; replacement of overpasses carrying McArthur Road, Fifth Street and Fullerton Avenue, reconstruction of the McArthur Road and Fullerton Avenue Interchanges; construction, reconstruction or realignment of access / connector roads; replacement of existing sign structures and safety appurtenances within the project limits; and installation of intelligent transportation system hardware.
Navarro & Wright is providing Geotechnical Services to URS Corporation, which include preliminary geotechnical investigations; pavement design, roadway and structure borings, drilling inspection, Reconnaissance Soils and Geotechnical Engineering Report (RSGER), Geotechnical Engineering Report (GER), boring logs and soil testing.
